You guys were so on the fish that day. There's dolphins all around. And then there's that blowout in the water way in the background, right above your rod. Lots of activity. You guys were right in the action. And that sonar view of the tuna chasing the fish at the start of the video... brilliant.

Ive seen u have used floats in the past but could never figure out how you clipped the line on to stop it ...i used float just with a scotty fishing clip attached to it spro do another line clip aswell but i think i found the ultimate for the bottles its screws onto the bottle and has a adjustable clip on it on the outside was only 3 left in stock in uk hoping the get out for blues meself and a few more porbeagles here in ireland might do a trip for the six gill at some stage have a mate had the on a 16ft orkney strikeliner down clare way said the fish was near as long as the boat

Nice to see the sharks back, I'll see you at the shark comp hopefully. I'm going to try with rainbow trout flappers this year,also made up some chum using heads and guts.I like the sidewinder hoody Chris is wearing is it available commercially?

When you tag them and record the tag number - you do not appear to measure length, estimate weight . Have I missed something ?

Totally agree with comments below, only watch The Fish Locker these days,all others seem amateurish by comparison,Johns knowledge is far in advance of others and presented in a way that even those with little knowledge will be interested. Think it's time that TV production companies should be getting in contact with him. Tight lines all.

Glad you were selected John. Nobody else shows and explains what is being done and why like you. I have 2 questions to ask if I may. 1) You cut something on your line early in the video. What was it please. 2) You said you record the size etc. of the sharks on the card, but never saw you actually measure or weigh them, so is it with your experience that you can estimate their length and weight. A question from Oz. Do you have problems with shark fin fishers? We have instances here in Aussie where 100's turn up on the beach with only the fins missing. A lot of them go into the water alive.🤢😢

After so long, hundreds of thousands of years of co-evolution, the ability to sense and detect sharks is probably a built-in genetic function by now. All the ones who didn't have that ability in the distant past, were quickly picked off; those who could, lived to breed, and now it's probably hardwired into the birds' DNA.
